Khalid Rao M.D.

After graduating from Nishtar Medical College in Multan, Pakistan, Dr. Khalid Rao went to England and subsequently USA to further his training and career in Medicine. He did his Internal Medicine residency at Sinai Hospital in Detroit, MI. He is a Diplomate of American Board of Internal Medicine and a fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Rao has taught medical students and residents at various institutions in the Detroit area such as Sinai Hospital, Sinai-Grace Hospital, Detroit Medical Center, Wayne State University, Providence Hospital and American University of Caribbean. He was the Clerkship Director for medical students from Wayne State University School of Medicine at Sinai Hospital. Dr. Rao received a Teacher of the Year award at Providence Hospital which is affiliated with St. John Health System. He is currently in private practice with William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.

As a philanthropist, Dr. Rao has been a part of various organizations. He is a board member for the Michigan chapter of the Human Development Foundation of North America, an organization that works to increase health awareness and literacy in Pakistan. Dr. Rao has also served as a Vice Chair for the same organization. He is the president of Pakistan Association of America, a social and cultural organization based in Michigan. In this role, he helped set up free medical help to cater the uninsured from the Pakistani community. Dr. Rao is the general secretary of Nishtar Alumni Association of North America. He was a secretary of the student’s union in his medical school and has been a Health and Safety officer for Boy Scouts in Novi, Michigan.

Dr. Rao has just launched a new career in medical journalism. Through his new weekly TV show “Your Good Health with Dr Khalid Rao” on ARY Digital, he aims to increase health awareness and education in the Asian American community. He is married to his wife Zohra and has three children Neelma, Hamza and Aleeza

 

 

Munzer Samad M.D.

A medical graduate of UTSEA University in the Dominican Republic, Dr. Samad completed his residency in family practice, with additioanl training in psychiatry, at Wayne State University and Sinai Grace Hospital. Dr. Samad has held positions in hospitals throughout Michigan and metropolitan Detroit. He is cerified by the American Board of Family Practice. Dr. Samad has special interests in diabetes management, hypertension control, adolescent medicine and skin-related problems. In addition, Dr. Samad has both nursing home and emergy medicine experience. Dr. Samad is a frequent speaker on women's health and other wellness topics, and is fluent in Hindi and Urdu.
